First Login Checklist for a Newly Bought Account
What to do in the first ten minutes after you receive an account, so the login works and the account stays yours.
The first login matters more than people think. Platforms watch for a new device, a new place and a lot of changes at once. Go through this list in order.
1. Copy the details exactly
Copy the login straight from your order page. Do not retype it, and check there is no space at the start or end. Most "wrong password" problems are a missing character.
2. Use one device and one connection
Log in from the phone or computer you will keep using. Avoid switching VPN locations or devices on the first day.
3. Use the 2FA key if there is one
If the delivery includes a 2FA key, add it to an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator and type the six-digit code it shows. Our guide on 2FA keys explains this step by step.
4. Change the password, then the email
Set a new, long password first. Then change the email or recovery details to your own. This is what keeps anyone else from resetting the account later.
5. Log out of other sessions
Look in the security settings for "log out of other devices" and use it once you have changed the password.
6. Wait before big changes
Leave the name, photo and bio for a day or two, and do not start mass following, messaging or posting right away. Small steps over a week keep the account calm.
